Shakespeare - Macbeth

In Class 5R we have been studying Shakespeare. We have been looking at the story of Macbeth.
Macbeth was originally one of King Duncan's top soldiers. He was told he would be King one day by witches. He was a very unstable, vicious and lonely man.


We worked in groups and had to make up our own Witches Spells, then we had to act them out!

Autumn Activities - 5R

School Council elections have been feverish, and 5R have elected Amy as their school councillor and Chantel as their deputy.

We have been writing very creative poems about the journey of a river, using lots of river vocabulary (meander, source, waterfall, mouth etc) and this term we will be learning about the water cycle.

Colchester Zoo

As we are studying habitats as our topic this term we visited Colchester Zoo to learn a little more on this. It was a great opportunity for us to see the endangered animals which we have been studying up close and to see how the zoo creates enclosures to match the animals natural habitat.


In literacy we have been writing debates for or against wild animals being kept in zoos using persuasive language.

Year group topic - India

Year four have been learning about India. India is in Southern Asia. The colours on the flag are orange, white, green and blue.

In Fronter, our teachers have uploaded lots of information about the country and its culture, and we can use this to learn more about this topic.  On Heritage Day, India will be represented in our parade and in our assembly, a musician came in to play the sitar and an asian keyboard.

Year Three Visit to the Recycling Centre

This week 3B had great fun at the Recycling centre. We learnt about all the ways we can stop making so much rubbish. We need to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We found out about what we can put in our recycling boxes - glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, metal cans and tins and paper but NO cardboard! So what are you waiting for? GET RECYCLING!!!
